Comparison Degree is used when we
compare one person or one thing with another. It also compared the thing with using adjectives or adverb.
There are 3 kinds of comparison
degree:
1. Positive degree
2. Comparative degree
3. Superlative degree
A. Positive Degree
Positive degree shows the simple of adjectives or adverb. Positive degree
is used to compare the same of two
things or people. It can be attitude, shape, or the other.
The formulas of positive degree used:

….as + adj + as….
·
….as + adverb + as….
The examples of positive degree:
a. Adjective
·
Tina is as tall as tini
·
I ride a motorcycle as fast as rere
·
The assigment is not as easy as I imagine
b. Adverb
·
I can write an article as quickly as my sister
·
I read books as many as my brother
·
Jihan drives as carefully as my father

Comparative Degree
It is used for comparing the qualities of two persons
or things. Comparative degree have two formulas.
a. Used: adj + er
The formulas : S + to be +
adj + er + than + obj
Examples:

Dian
is smarter than Budi
·
My
sisters are shorter than your sisters
·
This
book is heavier tha your book
·
Our
teacher is prettier than your aunt

Example:
Tall > Taller, Short > Shorter, Long > Longer, ect.

Superlative
Degree
It is used to show/ to describe an objed which is at
the upper or lower limit of quality.
Superlative also has
two formulas:

Used:
adj + est
The formulas : S + to be + the + adj + est + c
Examples:

is the tallest student in the class

uncle is the shortest
This formula is used to show the adjective or adverb
in one syllable.
Example :
Lazy >
laziest
Low >
Lowest
Cheap > Cheapest
b. Used: Most + adj
The Formulas:
S + to be + the + most + adj
It is for the
adjectives with more than one syllabes
Examples:
